ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS)’s administration has established a pathology department replacing the city’s only liver trans centre (LTC) that was set up in haste just for the sake to take credit.
The centre that was established with Rs 200 million in June 2011 has failed to fulfill its purpose due to financial constraints and a shortage of experts. State minister Dr Fazal Chaudhy will inaugurate the new center on Friday. PIMS Administrator Doctor Altaf while talking with new agency stated that the institute will be ideal on the directions of State Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry regarding the health reforms of PM.
He stated that considering the people’s problems a new digital lab center of pathology department has been established so that patients easily could collect their samples and reports. Administrator told that separate counters consisting of six counters have been established in the center for male and female adding that new groundbreaking ceremony of Out Patient Department (OPD) will be taken place after this development.
Dr Altaf added that the number of expert doctors will be increased. It is vital to mention here that inauguration of new emergency established eight months ago could not be taken place so far and the administration has locked new digital emergency building up established with the donation declaring it dangerous.
