KARACHI – Sindh government announced a public holiday on April 4 (Monday) across province to mark death anniversary of former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
According to the notification issued this evening, the Sindh government announced the holiday on account of 37th death anniversary of Bhutto. “All offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils under the administrative control of Sindh government will remain closed on April 4, except essential services,” the notification said.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was hanged to death on April 4, 1979 at Rawalpindi district jail by military dictator General Ziaul Haq. Meanwhile police in Sindh has been ordered to ensure foolproof security in Sindh on occasion of death anniversary of PPP founding leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The Peoples Party terms the hanging a ‘judicial murder’.
